Job overview

Are you a Quality Control Scientist looking to become a part of a team responsible for delivering in-process and release testing for entirely novel medicinal products, in an exciting, emerging field of science and medicine?

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have proven experience working within a similar role within a quality control or GMP testing environment and will have valuable QC expertise. You will also be motivated, resilient and have exceptional levels of attention to detail.


What will you be responsible for?

  • Support routine testing of raw materials, in-process materials and final products in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulations.

  • Provide support for all QC operations in relation to quality systems (e.g. change controls, CAPA, deviations, OOS etc.).

  • Troubleshoot methods and instrumentation failures and participate in the qualification of laboratory equipment.

  • Develop raw materials specifications and perform QC release of raw materials.

  • Uphold stability testing protocols.

  • Ensure adherence to release and stability testing and timelines.

  • Collect, process and distribute samples in a timely manner.

  • Maintain a high level of personal compliance to the required standards.

  • Ensure laboratory areas are clean and safe (in compliance with cGMP and safety standards) and properly stocked, along with general maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  • Participate in writing and revising SOPs, QTMs, and other technical documents.

  • Make detailed observations in support of Alert, Action EM breaches and OOS result investigations.

  • Carry out routine inspections of laboratory equipment to ensure all operating specifications are being adhered to.

  • Ensure all cleaning regimes are carried out and all QC areas are maintained to a high standard.

  • Work cross-functionally with other teams and colleagues across EnteroBiotix.

  • Adhere to high standards of Health & Safety and promote these standards within team and throughout the company.


What are we looking for?

Essential

  • DBSc/MSc degree in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 1 year experience working within a GMP environment.

  • Strong team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Highly proactive and engaged in rapidly learning new skills.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to constantly adapt as required in alignment with compliance and business needs.

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Experience with testing instrument qualification activities, preferably with consideration and compliance to Data Integrity requirements, per MHRA regulations and guidelines.

    • Experience in the below testing techniques – performed within QC roles (advantageous):

    • Molecular based methods (including but not limited to q-PCR, DNA Extractions, biochemical assays etc)

    • Microbiological techniques (including microscopy staining and sample preparations for further QC testing)

    • Performance of environmental monitoring of cleanroom suitesAnalytical techniques and experience in executing and following compendial test methods.

  • Experience in writing QMS documentation (such as change controls, deviations, CAPAs & laboratory investigations).

  • Full driver’s license advantageous.
